The management of this 188 years old institution knew what they needed to establish their India entity with complete precision. Described as one of the oldest universities in England, home to some of the most talented scholars and researchers from around the world who are tackling global issues and making a difference to people’s lives.
The University sits in a beautiful historic city in the North east of England where it shares ownership of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the greatest Romanesque building in Western Europe. A collegiate University, it recruits outstanding students from across the world and offers an unmatched wider student experience.
The Country Manager was a key position to the University’s in-country India strategy. The incumbent being responsible for representing the University and driving the strategic development of the University’s interests in India.
Corporate Associates took up this search reaching out to potential candidates in the Delhi – NCR region, which is where this position was based.
Within the stipulated time as outlined in the search process we were able to present a long list of qualified candidates from branded organisations which could establish a connect with the client mindset. Working closing with the Director of Client Relations, the long list was narrowed and further narrowed on precise assessments over the 2 week period.
Personality fitment was an integral factor in this search, as this was a leadership role which would have influence the shape of things to come in the organisation in the next 2 – 3 years to follow. The best candidate was short listed and was made a prompt offer after final assessments by the management team from the UK during their visit to New Delhi. Coming from a common network on a couple of counts, the client was convinced about their decision which translated into success for the organisation.
